The owner of a six-bedroom property in Stevenage, which has been operating as a 'house of multiple occupation' (HMO) for eight years, has now applied for a certificate of lawfulness for its use.
The Ripon Road end-of-terrace house has been a HMO since September 2015, according to the owner.
A HMO is a shared house occupied by individuals who share basic amenities but do not form a single household.

A decision is set to be made by Stevenage Borough Council on the application for a certificate of lawfulness by October 10.
