Residents at Tabor Court in Letchworth had a party last month to celebrate the housing scheme's 30th anniversary.
First Garden Cities Homes organised the event on Friday, July 28 - marking 30 years since Queen Elizabeth II opened the 37-flat housing scheme in 1993.
Kim Smith, now a resident at Tabor Court, remembers the day well.
She said: "I was there with my son and my mum as the Queen walked past. Everyone was so happy and waving their flags. My mum gave her some flowers."
More than 200 people were invited to the official opening ceremony, after which the Queen toured the new building and enjoyed a cuppa with Mrs Payne, who lived at number 11.
First Garden Cities Homes was previously Howard Cottage Housing Association, and as Mrs Payne's flat was the association's 1,000th home, the Queen presented her with a commemorative key.

Scheme manager Rachel Horne said: "We were delighted that so many local people joined us for Tabor Court’s 30th anniversary celebrations – current and past residents, their friends and family, and of course the wonderful team from Herts Homecare."
