Flitwick Town Council has called on Nadine Dorries, the Conservative MP for Mid Bedfordshire, to stand down "immediately" as she continues to delay her resignation.
The letter has been written "to raise the council's concerns and frustration at the continuing lack of representation for the people of Mid-Bedfordshire at Westminster".
Ms Dorries told voters in June that she would be resigning "with immediate effect", triggering a by-election.
However, she has since said that she will not be resigning until she is given more information about why she did not receive a peerage in Boris Johnson's resignation honours.
The letter from the Town Council notes that Ms Dorries has not spoken in the House of Commons since June 7, 2022, and continues: "You have not maintained a constituency office for a considerable time, and it's widely understood that you have not held a surgery in Flitwick since March 2020.

"Rather than representing constituents, the council is concerned that your focus appears to have been firmly on your television show, upcoming book and political manoeuvres to embarrass the Government for not appointing you to the House of Lords.
