The theme for the event was 'dress like Gerry', with the memo: "For all those who have seen Gerry behind the bar for the last 30 years, you know his dress sense - either a Johnny Cash all-in-black or flower power t-shirts."
Many people have congratulated Gerry on his milestone, calling it "a tremendous achievement", and The Poacher "the best pub in Stevenage, with the best people and best bar staff".
"The man, the myth, the legend," one punter joked.
