Stevenage's new TK Maxx and Homesense stores opened earlier today (Thursday, June 29).

A large queue of people turned up for the occasion, with the store manager cutting the ribbon and the first customers presented with flowers.

The new stores span two floors and 30,164 square feet, with products available at up to 60 per cent lower than the RRP in fashion, accessories, toys and more.

Homesense offers a similar experience to TK Maxx - branded items at discount prices - on a variety of products ranging from furniture and home décor to big-brand kitchenware, stationery, gifts and beauty.

Stevenage's previous TK Maxx store, in the Forum, closed on Monday, June 26.

All TK Maxx workers at that store were offered jobs in the new store, while around 40 additional roles were created too.

A spokesperson for TK Maxx and Homesense said: “We are thrilled to bring Homesense to Stevenage, and give local shoppers the chance to shop TK Maxx and Homesense side-by-side.

"We want to give our valued treasure seekers the best shopping experience possible, and we’re confident they will enjoy our new bright and beautiful stores whilst on the hunt for quality fashion and homeware at incredible prices!”
