Two men have been arrested following an incident at Norton Common in Letchworth yesterday (June 26).

Police were called at around 6.50pm to reports of an altercation and that a man had been found with a stab wound to the leg.

Officers from the East of England Ambulance Service attended. The man, aged in his 20s, was taken to hospital by air ambulance. He is in a stable condition in hospital.

Officers remained in the area this morning.

An 18-year-old man and a 19-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. They remain in police custody at this time.

Detective Inspector Nick Rega said: “I understand news of this incident will cause concern in the community.

“Two people were swiftly arrested and enquiries are continuing into the circumstances of the incident.
