A new soft play facility opened in Letchworth last month, so we sent Tom and Sophie Davison, aged 10 and eight, to check it out.

Play Wild Letchworth at North Herts Leisure Centre on Baldock Road offers a range of jungle-themed fun and physical activities, including monkey bars, cargo nets, a rope bridge, a log ramp climber and small and large slides.

The facility, which has a seperate entrance to the leisure centre, is light, bright and fully air conditioned - just what you need in this warmer weather!

The soft play area has three different levels for children to explore, with dedicated areas for under threes and under fives.

"This soft play is epic," said Tom. "There's so much to do and it's all awesome fun.

"I think my favourite thing is the monkey bars."

Sophie added: "My favourite things are the rope bridge and cargo nets. I don't want the session to end. Can we come back again tomorrow?"

While the children are having fun in the soft play, the adults can relax in the cafe overlooking the play frame, with a range of hot and cold drinks, cold food and snacks available. Fancy something hot? Just nip round to the cafe in the leisure centre and bring it back to Play Wild to enjoy.

For additional peace of mind, two televisions in the cafe area provide live images from various angles of the play frame, so you can keep an eye on your little ones without leaving your seat.

When it comes to children's parties, Play Wild has it sorted.

Dedicated friendly party hosts stay with the children throughout their time at Play Wild, first helping them get the most out of the play frame, then accompanying them to a separate room set out with a cold lunch option, squash, fruit and party bags. You just need to bring the birthday cake! Prices start from £12.95 per child (minimum of 10 children).

For weekends and school holidays, advance booking is recommended. There are four slots of 1 hour 45 minutes per day.
