A popular Stevenage business will be celebrating its first birthday on Saturday, June 17, with a packed schedule of events.

Geek Retreat, run by Kim Stevenson and Dan Sullivan, is a community board-game café in Park Place.

They will be marking the end of a successful first year with a day-long extravaganza on Saturday, which is set to include:

  • A Mega Pokémon Kids Club from 10am until 1pm (£5 entry, including a free booster pack)
  • Master Builders of Lego from 2pm onwards (free entry)
  • Game Showcase with resident storyteller and game master, Kieron, from 5pm until 8.30pm (£10 entry, including a free drink)

Anybody planning to come along is invited to turn up in cosplay costumes for a ten per cent discount on milkshakes, and there will also be competitions and raffles throughout the day to raise money for Garden House Hospice and The Foodshed.
