Trains heading towards Hitchin are were delayed earlier today (Thursday, May 11) after the line was blocked.
Just after 10.30am, Thameslink tweeted that "due to a fault with a train at Welwyn Garden City, a line towards Hitchin is currently blocked".

The disruption only ended around 1pm.
According to another earlier Thameslink tweet, "services running through WGC are delayed" and services "towards Stevenage, Peterborough and Cambridge" are affected.
Passengers were advised to allow an extra ten minutes to complete their journeys.
Thameslink's website said that disruption between Stevenage and King's Cross was expected until 12.30pm today.
Thameslink services have already been subject to delays today, with the line towards Stevenage via WGC being blocked earlier this morning by a freight train. That disruption lasted around an hour, concluding at around 7.45am.
Today's railway disruption follows a raft of delays and cancellations yesterday.
