A number of changes have been made to bus services in Hertfordshire this month, including the launch of a new route.

From April 16, residents have been able to catch Centrebus's 907 service between Stevenage and Cheshunt. The route operates a once-an-hour service every day of the week.

For those travelling from Stevenage to Hertford or Ware, the new service means that there will be a service running between the towns once every half hour, complementing the existing hourly 390 service.

In further good news for bus users, the 9A/B/C Stagecoach service between Hitchin and Bedford has increased in frequency from April 16. The 9A and 9B services are now both operating hourly, meaning there are two services per hour between the towns on weekdays.

Plans are also in place to improve Centrebus's 314/315 service between WGC and Hitchin.

Route 315 will run more regularly throughout the day, ensuring there is a bus every hour on one of the two services. More buses will go to the Frythe in Welwyn, while the villages of St Pauls Walden and Whitwell will now be served by the 315 route.

A date for the changes to route 315 has yet to be announced.

Some cuts to services have also been made, with many affecting those travelling to or from Welwyn Garden City (WGC).

The 366 Centrebus route between Luton and WGC has been reduced from April 17, and will no longer serve Hatfield at all. The timetable has been cut to provide only a few journeys per day in each direction.

The 401 Arriva service between WGC and Panshanger has been cancelled on Sundays, while the 403 service between WGC, Great Ganett to Haldens has been cut and now only runs once per hour.
