Latest court results from Hertfordshire and surrounding areas: The following cases were heard at St Albans and Hatfield Magistrates' Courts.

Hatfield Magistrates Court – March 29 

Stephen Oakley: 61, of West Croft, Orwell. On September 4, 2020, stole alcohol, meat and toiletries to the value of £250 from Waitrose, Harpenden. Fined £250 plus ordered to pay compensation £250, victim services £34 and court costs £85. 

Stevenage Magistrates Court – March 30 

James Marshall: 42, of Townsend Mews, Stevenage. On April 26, 2022 drove a Fiat Bravo on the A1 Baldock Southbound while using a mobile phone. Fined £219, plus ordered to pay victim services £34 and court costs £119. Driving record endorsed with 6 points 

Stevenage Magistrates Court – March 31 

David Atkins: 29, of Ellis Avenue, Stevenage. Failed to comply with a community requirement of a suspended sentence order made by North London Magistrates Court on October 25 in that he failed to attend unpaid work appointments. Fined £50. 

Jonathan Yorath: 38, of York Road, Stevenage. Failed to comply with the requirements of a community order made by Luton Magistrates Court on January 13, 2022, by failing to attend thinking skills programme. Committed to prison for 4 weeks suspended for 12 months. 

St Albans Magistrates Court – April 3

Cheynie McDonnell: 30, of Epsom Close, Stevenage. On May 6 and May 27 failed to give information relating to the driver of a BMW who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence. Fined £500 plus ordered to pay victim services £50 and court costs £85. Driving record endorsed with 6 points. 

Stevenage Magistrates Court – April 4 

David White: 34, of Days Close, Royston. On May 29 trespassed at Royston railway station. Ordered to pay victim services £50 and court costs £620.
