A new bar is coming to Hitchin after Chic closed its doors after 13 years of business.

Hush will have its grand opening this Saturday (April 8), with a new sign and interior being fitted at the Churchyard site this morning.

"We invite you to join us for the opening night of our brand new beautiful, elegant & stylish venue," read a preview of the event.

"Come down & enjoy our delicious cocktails, plus dance through to the early hours with our amazing DJs & dancers.

"This event is not to be missed, become part of our story and create exciting new memories with us."

Hush will replace Chic, with the cocktail bar's closure after 13 year of business announced last month.

"Sadly, after 13 years of trading we have decided to close Chic," read a statement on Facebook.

"We’ve massively enjoyed the run and have some great memories, but it’s time for us to hand over the reigns to a new team to make the venue their own and hopefully help create another 12 years of memories for the party people of Hitchin.

"And make sure to keep your eyes peeled for the upcoming takeover by Hush, who are looking to bring a fresh and exciting new vibe to the town.

"Thank you to all of our customers who have made the last 13 years so enjoyable! We have had a blast!"

Chic hit the headlines last November when a man was left with "life-changing injuries" after being assaulted outside the bar.
