Today marks 18 years since a fire broke out at Harrow Court in Stevenage, tragically killing three people.
Firefighters Jeff Wornham, from Sandon, and Michael Miller, from Stevenage, lost their lives after entering the burning building to rescue resident Natalie Close.
All three sadly died during the fire on February 2, 2005.
An investigation found there was an abnormal rapid fire development, caused by a lit tea candle that melted through a television on the 14th floor.
Herts Fire & Rescue took to social media to pay their respects to their lost colleagues.
The tweet read: "Today we remember FF Jeff Wornham GM and FF Michael Miller GM, who tragically lost their lives fighting a fire at Harrow Court in Stevenage 18 years ago. Our thoughts remain with their family, friends, and colleagues as we mark the anniversary of their passing."
