An election held in September 2022 has returned four new governors to serve on the board of the Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation.
Sir Tim Wilson, Becky Hayes, Peter Lennie and David Adam have been elected to the board of governors for the first time.
Sir Tim has lived in Letchworth for more than 30 years, and was vice chancellor of the University of Hertfordshire until his retirement in 2010. He is especially keen to develop sport and recreation for young people in the town, as well as promoting business relationships.
Becky is the current deputy head at Hampstead Fine Arts. Through her work in education, she has strong links with local schools and is passionate about inclusivity, outreach work and communities coming together.

Peter was born in Letchworth and has lived there ever since. As well as his career as head of a successful international packaging business, Peter has a strong interest in sport. He is a keen advocate for refurbishing Letchworth town centre and will advocate the redevelopment and revitalisation of key town assets.
David is a long-term resident of Letchworth who has worked in urban regeneration. He is passionate about bringing investment into the town centre and growing Letchworth's cultural offer.
Two current governors, William Armitage MBE and John Hillson, were re-elected for a further term.
The structure of the board of governors also allows for up to ten Nominated Governors. Local clubs and societies may nominate a governor to serve representing a specific category. Harry Williams, the owner of Vutie Beets, a vegan brunch and coffee shop, is newly elected as a nominated governor with a focus on recreational and leisure activities.
Gareth Hawkins, chair of the board of trustees, said: “It was refreshing to see so many members of the community putting themselves forward to stand as governors.
"I believe that the electorate has chosen an excellent pool of candidates to join the board.
"The combined skillset will add a great deal of gravity to the work of the governors, and indeed the work and output of the Heritage Foundation.
