Two Stevenage children are featured in the new Roald Dahl feature film 'Matilda the Musical'.

The movie was released on Friday, November 25, and is currently showing in cinemas throughout the UK.

Stevenage youngsters Mia Sealy and Cordell Munyawiri secured roles in the film, following several auditions.

Both children are 12-years-old and have been attending Warriorz Performing Arts Academy for many years.

The Stevenage-based acedemy has been running studio classes and half-term camps since 2013, and takes on children from the age of 3.

Both Mia and Cordell have been trained by Warriorz founder and professional dancer Zara Richards.

Zara Richards told the Comet: "Both Mia and Cordell have been members of Warriorz Performing Arts for about seven years.

"They started at Warriorz initially as a hobby, however over time there commitment, hard work and passion for dance has enabled me to provide a platform for them to grow and now move on to gaining professional work.

"I am so proud of there achievements, and all the hours and hours of hard training over the years is now giving them the opportunities to experience these achievements."

Mia Sealy added: "I had the most amazing time being a part of this film, as we rehearsed and filmed this during Covid it was harder than during normal times, but this didn’t stop this being the best experience of my life.

"The early morning starts over a nine month period was Truly worth it, the film is absolutely amazing, and being a part of this, is something I will never forget."

Lastly, Cordell Munyawiri commented: "This experience has been the best, I met some amazing people and had so much fun being a part of this film.

"I learnt so much during this experience and I am looking forward to my future."
