As part of ongoing work to tackle knife crime in Stevenage, police officers have carried out knife sweeps in King George V Playing Fields.
Last week, officers from the Stevenage Neighbourhood Team were looking for knives and other weapons that may have been hidden in bushes or the undergrowth.
A spokesperson for Herts police explained: "We regularly carry out weapons sweeps in the town, as we know that knives are often secreted in certain areas, so they don’t have to be carried all the time but are easily accessible.
"We are pleased to report that no weapons were found."
In recent months, there have been several stabbings reported in Stevenage, including the fatal stabbing of Saint John Henry Newman School student Kajetan Migdal in May.
