Roaring Meg retail park to open up to fans watching matches at the Lamex on Tuesday evenings
Fans visiting The Lamex Stadium for Stevenage’s home match with Reading this evening (Tuesday) will be able to park in the Roaring Meg retail park for free, as part of a new trial.
Parking restrictions over the past year have meant that any drivers parking at the retail park for more than 90 minutes on a match day – whether attending the football or just shopping – were subject to financial penalties.
However following fan feedback Stevenage FC and park management firm Roaring Meg Retail & Leisure have agreed a new trial, allowing fans to park there for free on Tuesday night games only.
Restrictions will continue to be enforced on a Saturday and other match days, unless otherwise stated. Should this trial period prove unsuccessful then the park management reserve the right to withdraw this offer.
Boro chief executive Barry Webber said: “We are very pleased to announce this new parking trial at Roaring Meg which will benefit football fans coming to The Lamex Stadium for Tuesday night games.
“This all stems from feedback we have received from various sources, including the Meet the Chairman event and Supporters Advisory Board, and shows that we will strive to listen to our fans and continue to work with the local business community to find the best possible solutions.
“We’d like to thank Roaring Meg Retail & Leisure for this gesture and hope to build on this exciting partnership as the season goes on.”
Tickets for tonight’s game, which is a 7.30pm kick-off, will be available for home and away fans on the cash turnstiles at the following prices: £15 adult, £12 concession (armed forces / 60+ / U22s / disabled), £10 U18 and £5 U12.
