An abandoned cat has been found underweight and soaking wet in a Stevenage wood.
The black and white moggy, called Woody, was found dumped in a cat carrier by a passing member of the public in a wooded area near Brighton Close on Thursday.
The neutered male cat was underweight, very scared and soaking wet after being left there in the open-grilled cat carrier in heavy rain.
He was handed over to RSCPA officers who are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Vicki Burrell from the charity said: “Poor Woody was absolutely terrified when he was brought to us.
“This is hardly surprising – given that he was left all on his own in a wood in the pouring rain – trapped in a cat carrier to boot.
“He is doing OK but is still very nervous and scared. We really hope we can find him a new home with a loving owner who can help him forget his traumatic past.”
Anyone interested in rehoming Woody should call 01462 672278.
Anyone with any information about how he was dumped should call 0300 123 8018.
