A man fled on foot last night after police stopped a car in Stevenage High Street but – despite a police helicopter being sent out – so far he has not been found.
Officers stopped a car at about 11.40pm as part of routine checks, but the man inside fled the scene on foot.
A search of the Old Town area was conducted with assistance from a police helicopter, but so far the man has not been located.
Enquiries continue and a car has been seized for having no insurance.
