A new restaurant in Stevenage Old Town which was targeted at the weekend when two windows were smashed has responded – with a Spanish lesson.
Police were called to El Bar de Tapas in Middle Row at about 3.10am on Sunday after reports that a man had punched two windows, causing them to smash.
A Stevenage man in his 30s was subsequently arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage and was taken to hospital with injuries. He has since been bailed.
The restaurant – which opened its doors on August 26 – has replaced the glass in its own unique way, translating ‘window’, ‘broken’ and ‘annoying’ into Spanish.
A spokesman told the Comet: “We’re trying to bring a bit of fun to Stevenage High Street and you could say our response is a reflection of what we’re about.”
