Who impressed Comet Sport’s Neil Metcalfe as Stevenage drew 1-1 with Luton Town at the Lamex? Find out with our player ratings.

Tom King – 7: Was comfortable with everything that Luton threw at him, which wasn’t a great deal in terms of shots. But crosses were easily claimed and a few punts upfield had the Luton defence on their heels.

Ronnie Henry – 6.5: Was penalised for the tackle that led to the penalty but seemed to have hooked the ball from my vantage point, admittedly a long way away. Rest of the game was a typical Ronnie Henry performance. Rarely has an attacker who gets the better of him.

Ben Wilmott – 7: A no frills performance from a no frills centre-half. First time watching him but I can see why some of the big boys have looked at him. Still raw but with experience his confidence will grow.

Terence Van Cooten – 7: Was turned early on and left wanting by Harry Cornick but grew into it the longer the game went on. He’s a very cultured defender but showed a good eye for attacking as well.

Jack King – 6: Suffered a clash of heads with team-mate Jonathan Smith early on and it eventually saw him come off before half-time. Was relatively untroubled up until that point.

Johnny Goddard – 8: Boro’s star man for the second half alone. Came out after the break and was at the centre of everything good for Stevenage. Can only hope this is the start of a fine career at the Lamex but fantastic start.

Jonathan Smith – 7: Obviously relished the game against his former employers. As combatitive and strong as ever, he never gave the Luton midfield time to settle on the ball and dictate play, certainly in the second half.

Luke Amos – 6.5: Battled hard and made some good tackles. One in particular to stop a chance in the box was very special. Considered him to be more of an attacking midfield player but defensively solid.

Alex Revell – 7: Every chance that came Stevenage’s way in the second half seemed to fall to him. None of them were easy but the simple fact he got in those positions should be enough to please Boro fans. Keep doing it and goals will come.

Mark McKee – 6.5: Had some good moments on the ball but some shaky ones too. Still young I know but there’s obvious talent there and in his position you just wanted him to take the game by the scruff of the neck. But has come on leaps and bounds this year and as long as he continues to do so he’s got a future.

Matt Godden – 6.5: Worked tirelessly up front on his own to hold the ball up when it came to him but it meant his chances in front of goal were limited. Hard on a hungry goalscorer but a vital part of the team’s performance.

Subs:

Fraser Franks – 6.5: Gave the ball away in the lead-up to the penalty but for the most part was untroubled. Always tough coming into a defensive line midway through a fast and furious derby but coped manfully.

Ben Kennedy – 6.5: Came in when Stevenage were on top and his trickery helped push them on even more. Could have had a late winner had it not been for the linesman’s flag.

Danny Newton – n/a: Only on for the closing stages but made his mark with a thumping header that gave Stevenage a deserved point.
