The MP for North East Hertfordshire has told the Prime Minister of Ukrainian families coming to Baldock, in the latest session of PMQs.
Sir Oliver Heald said to the Prime Minister in the Commons: "People across North East Hertfordshire are coming together to provide support and refuge to families fleeing Ukraine.
"The Baldock and District Action Committee are about to welcome four families to our community and doesn't he agree with me that this shows the open-hearted generosity of the British people and will he continue to do all he can to make this process as simple and as speedy as possible?"
Boris Johnson said: "I thank all those involved in welcoming people from Ukraine.
"The Homes for Ukraine scheme is now open, I think about 40,000 have already applied. 150,000 people have said they want to welcome Ukranians [into their homes]. and I thank Baldock and District for helping to lead the way."
