Douglas Stewart FLETT

Dr. Douglas Stewart FLETT Passed away peacefully at home on April 25th, 2023. Douglas was born in June 1936 in Inverness, Scotland. He was educated at Robert Gordons College, Aberdeen and at Aberdeen University where he gained a BSc in chemistry and a PhD in physical chemistry. In 1962 he joined the Mineral Processing Division of the Warren Spring Laboratory in Stevenage and was appointed Head of the Minerals and Metals Division in 1985. He became an independent consultant in 1991. He loved to play golf and was a member at Knebworth for over 50 years, captaining the club in 1982. Douglas was husband to Mitsuko (d. 2008) and father to Duncan (b. 1971). He is survived by his younger brother Alistair, his son Duncan and his grandson Kei.
