Juliet Robison We are sad to announce the passing of Julie Robinson on 6th July at home in Letchworth, aged 88, of natural causes. She will be deeply missed by her children, Vanessa, Philip and Matthew and grandsons Thomas, Guy, Harry, Max and George. Julie loved teaching and began her career in Westbury School, Letchworth in 1953. In the late 1970s and until the mid 1980s, she enjoyed teaching in Gothic Mead Lower School, Arlesey. After retiring, her passion of gardening was her focus and for many years, she was an active member of the Hardy Plant Society (Hertfordshire Group). She became its chairperson in 1989. Her children, Vanessa, Susannah, Philip and Matthew attended Letchworth Grammar school/Fearnhill School. Her husband, Gilbert, who died in June 2020, was a keen local tennis and racketball player who worked at British Aerospace in the 1970s and 1980s. The cremation will be at North Herts Memorial Park and Crematorium on Tuesday 20th July at 2pm. Julie requested no flowers and that any donations go to Leukemia Research - in memory of her daughter, Susannah – may be sent direct to the charity. All enquiries to Austin’s Funeral Directors.
