Herts police are investigating reports of multiple cars being damaged in the Bearton Road area of Hitchin.

Officers received reports of damage to two parked vehicles between 3am and 6am on Saturday, April 20. Later, two further reports were received of damage to cars overnight between Sunday, April 21 and Monday, April 22.

Neighbourhood Policing Team Inspector James Lant said: “We’d like to hear from anyone who saw any suspicious behaviour, or caught any footage on a doorbell camera, in the Bearton Road area following these reports.

“In addition, we understand there may have been other similar incidents in the area which have not been reported to police yet. I’d urge anyone who has been a victim of crime to report it using one of the methods below.

“I’d like to reassure residents that these reports are being investigated and additional patrols continue to be carried out in the area.”
