The noise from the travelling Stevenage supporters had barely died away at Aston Villa when thoughts of the management and players turned to who was next on their dance card.

The draw for the fourth round of the FA Cup took place as Boro were completing their warm-up at Villa Park, prior to their incredible 2-1 success over the Premier League side.

And it meant they instantly knew at the final whistle that they would have Championship opposition in three weeks' time with a trip to Stoke City.

And manager Steve Evans is already looking forward to locking horns with his friend, and fellow Scotsman, Alex Neil.

He said: "That in isolation is a really difficult game because Alex Neil is a good friend of mine and I know how tough it will be against his team.

"He is a fantastic manager."

Even Stevenage hero Dean Campbell was plotting the next upset.

He said: "Stoke will be another very difficult tie but we’ve just got to go there with the same attitude and hope we can take another scalp.

"We were going into the game [at Villa Park] with absolutely nothing to lose. The pressure was all on Villa.

"We just had to work as hard as we can, enjoy it and if we got something out of it then we’ll take it.

"It’s an incredible win."

Stoke advanced to the fourth round with a 3-0 win away to Boro's League Two rivals, Hartlepool United.

The tie in the Potteries will take place around the weekend of Saturday, January 28.
