A woman in her 30s has been taken to hospital with "life-threatening" injuries following a crash with a heavy goods vehicle on the A1(M) near Letchworth.

The collision - involving the HGV and pedestrian - happened at around 7.20pm on Thursday (August 1), near to Junction 9 for Letchworth Gate.

Police attended, along with colleagues from the East of England Ambulance
Service, and a woman in her 30s was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Sergeant Tim Davies from Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit said: “I am appealing to anyone who was driving along the A1(M) between 7.15pm and 7.25pm on Thursday, August 1.

“If you witnessed the collision occur or have any dashcam footage that may support our investigation, no matter how significant you think it might be, please contact me.

“Additionally, I am interested in anyone who witnessed a white female wearing a
yellow/orange dress around the Corey’s Mill/Junction 8 roundabout.”
