St Albans friends Alfie and Owen had been favourites to win BBC's Race Across The World, but now find themselves as joint outsiders after the latest episode.

Last Wednesday (May 1) the pair went from first - with a one hour and 32 minute lead - to last, and weren't shown reaching the checkpoint before the episode concluded.

This has meant that the pair's previous 60 per cent chance of winning has dropped to 16.7 per cent, according to Gambling.com.

Alfie and Owen, both 20, now have odds of 5/1 to win the competition, sitting as joint-outsiders with Betty and James.

Stephen and Viv came first in last week's episode, overturning a 17-and-a-half hour deficit to become the new leaders.
