The game is afoot as Letchworth's Settlement Players are set to perform a Sherlock Holmes-inspired comedy mystery play.
Performances takes place from Thursday, November 16 to Saturday, November 18, with tickets available for £10 from www.settlement-players.co.uk, or in person (cash only) from David's Music in Eastcheap.
Set in Christmas 1936, The Game's Afoot; or Holmes for the Holidays, begins as famous actor William Gillette - admired the world over for his leading role as Sherlock Holmes - invites his fellow cast members to his home for a weekend of revelry.
When one of the guests is stabbed to death, the festivities in this isolated house of tricks and mirrors quickly turn dangerous, and it's up to Gillette to track down the killer.

The play was written by Ken Ludwig, and won the Edgar Award for Best Play in 2012.
It is inspired by the real-life American actor William Gillette, who created the iconic image of Holmes in a deerstalker hat, pipe and dressing gown, as well as the phrase 'elementary, my dear Watson'.
Director David Smith said: "We have reimagined Gillette and his fellow cast members based in the Home Counties but the characters are still all larger than life."
